Born in Wales in the 1970s, I’ve been writing dark fiction ever since I could hold a pen, much to the concern of my parents and teachers.  I guess it's finally paying off, though...

My first published story  Lovebite was my first ever submission: a first-prize winner in a competition held by Guy N Smith’s Graveyard Rendezvous in September 1998. I followed this up in 1999 with Totality. Both stories can be found here.

Since then my path to publishing has been a long and winding one, full of ups and downs: crushing rejections, writer’s block, distraction from the craft by eBay selling, video games and alcohol...but also real highs from those early acceptances and the friendships I’ve made a long the way. Friendships that led to the formation of the first worldwide horror writers’ co-operative, Dark Continents Publishing. DCP launched at the World Horror Convention in Austin, Texas in 2011 and have since then released critically acclaimed novels, novellas, short story collections, and anthologies in print and digital formats.

I served on DCP’s Board of Directors until January 2013, formatting eBooks, editing, and writing back cover copy. I have also undertaken editing work for Hersham Horror Books, Wicked East Press, and currently line-edit for the Lovecraft eZine.

Please click HERE to see a full list of my published (and forthcoming) works, with links to purchase. I hope you enjoy the free stories within. Some of the tales are old stories from early in my career; others are more recent and were written especially for this website when I created it in 2009.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. If you’d like to get in touch, please click on the links beneath my ugly mug on the right to email me, or follow me on Twitter and Facebook. Or be brave and sign the guestbook.  And if you'd like to see some of my non-fiction, click here.

Keep up to date with my blog on Goodreads and check out my readings on my You Tube channel

I’ve also taken part in the HEROES AND VILLAINS 2013 bloghop. Click the link HERE for details and links to other fine writers taking part.

Now, read on and enter the archives of pain. Mr Golien awaits...

All the best,

Dark Continents Publishing
